Here, in my house, I'm fixing a mexican salsa to accompany beans and tacoes. (Tacoes are crispy corn pancakes that fold around a filling.)

La salsa contiene pomodori, cipolline, peperoncini, un mazzo di cilantro,  sugo di mezzo cedro,sale e pepe quanto basta.

The salsa contains tomatoes, green onions,  hot peppers, a bunch of cilantro, juice of half a lime, salt and pepper to taste.

In Italia, in questo mese di Agosto, tutti vanno in vacanza, al le spiaggie, alle montagne, a qualsiasi altro posto.
In Italy, in this month of August, everyone goes on vacation, to the beaches, to the mountains, to someplace else.

Ferragosto e' un giorno/mese di vacanze
"Ferragosto" is a day/month of vacation.

Mi pare che in Francia si va in vacanza anche in Agosto.
I think that in France one goes on vacation in August too.

Qui, in America, si va in vacanza quando si puo' per una o due settimane, quando tutta la famiglia puo' essere insieme. In tante citta' le scuole non si chiudano nell'estate.
Here, in America, one goes on vacation when one can, for a week or two, when the entire family can be together. In many cities, schools don't close in summer.

Chi mangia qui? Questo piccolo restorante e' frequentato da marinai che lavorano qui vicino.
Who eats here? This tiny restaurant is frequented by fishermen who work nearby.

Viaggiare

Quando si viaggia, si viaggia per vedere cose belle con valore storico, come la cattedrale di Notre Dame in Parigi.
Quando penso a Notre Dame, penso a Quasimodo, e a tutte le pellicole che raccontano la storia di Francia. 

When one travels, one travels to see beautiful things with historic value, as the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.
When I think of Notre Dame, I think of Quasimodo, and all the films recounting the story of France.
