Chi siamo?

Quando io ero bambina, crescendo in Venosa, provincia di Potenza, nella Basilicata, la mia mamma mi metteva un nastro grande sui capelli.

When I was a little girl, growing in Venosa, in the province of Potenza, in Basilicata, my mother would put a big bow in my hair.

Da quel punto, tutti mi chiamavano 'la bambina col nastro grande!'
From that point on, everyone would call me 'the little girl with the big bow!"

Ora? Now?
Ora tutti mi chiamano La Maestra col sorriso grande!
Now, everyone calls me The Teacher with the big smile!

Le piante piu' piccole sono arugula.

The smallest plants are arugula, or rocket.

Arugula crescera' e diventera' l'erba piu' favorita.

Arugula will grow and will become the most favorite herb.

In Cucina

Si mangia in tutto il mondo.
Everyone in the world eats.

Si va a preparare un pranzo in tutte le case.
There are dinner preparations in every house.

Qui, a casa mia, preparo una salsa mexicana per condire fagioli e taco.
Here, in my house, I'm fixing a mexican salsa to accompany beans and tacoes. (Tacoes are crispy corn pancakes that fold around a filling.)

La salsa contiene pomodori, cipolline, peperoncini, un mazzo di cilantro,  sugo di mezzo cedro,sale e pepe quanto basta.

The salsa contains tomatoes, green onions,  hot peppers, a bunch of cilantro, juice of half a lime, salt and pepper to taste.
